What areas do you serve?

We are located in Dunnellon, Florida. We travel to areas of Marion, Monroe, Citrus and Levy counties. If you live outside these areas please give us a call and we can discuss options.


What kind of animals will you photograph?

We will photograph any pets you have, horses, dogs, cats, snakes, chickens etc.


How do I book a photo shoot?

Just get in touch with us via email, kay@kapturedbykay.com or telephone us at 352-533-0862, and we'll set something up that works for us both.


What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks payable to Kaptured by Kay, money orders and most credit cards (via PayPal) for deposits. All print and merchandise orders can be paid with a credit card on our site. If you want to pay the deposit with a credit card we will send you an e-mail invoice and you can go online to pay it.


When can we see the photos?

All of the photos taken will be available for viewing and purchase at our site within 48-64 hours after your shoot. These will already be cropped and light processed if needed.


What is the deposit for and when is it paid?

A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking in order to confirm our shoot. It insures against no-shows so we can concentrate 100% on taking great pictures for you! When we receive your deposit we'll contact you and we can consider your photo shoot confirmed and you'll get first priority if we have to reschedule for any reason. Your check or money order can be mailed to: Kaptured by Kay, 2250 SW 186th Court, Dunnellon, FL 34432 or you can pay with a credit card (via paypal). Your balance will be due at the start of your photo shoot.


How long are the photo shoots?

We have a 1 hour session or 2 hour session. We recommend the 1 hour shoot for older and small pets. These photos will only be taken at your home only. The 2 hour sessions we photograph your pets at your home and a location such as a park or field of your choice that is close to your home. For older or less active dogs and most cats and small pets, we recommend the 1 hour session. There's no traveling involved and it will be virtually stress-free for senior or shy animals. Longer sessions are available for events, such as horse shows etc.


Do you shoot in color or black & white?

We shoot in color but we can make your photos black & white and sepia. Just let us know if you want black & white and/or sepia tones, so that we can upload those choices to our website.


Do you have a studio?

We do not have a studio. The reason for this is most animals are more comfortable in their own environment and will act the way they normally do, such as playing with a favorite toy, sitting on the windowsill, running in the back yard, or lounging in their favorite spot. That's exactly what we want to capture during our photo shoot! Also, we feel that the flashes and studio lights involved are a source of stress for some pets and I'd rather that this was a fun experience for them and something they'd be happy to do again. Lastly, we really enjoy the spontaneity and variety of on-location shooting.


What if it's raining on the day of our shoot?

We do not like to shoot in the rain as it will damage our equipment. A lite drizzle is ok but if it's raining cats and dogs, it's best to reschedule. If it's forecast to pour on the day of our shoot, we'll give you a call right away and discuss other options.


What if I have to cancel or reschedule our shoot?

If you need to cancel, we require a 48 hour notice before your session; otherwise your deposit may be forfeited. Outside of that 48 hours, feel free to rearrange as you see fit. We'd be glad to work with you to make sure we're meeting at a time that works well for you and your pet!


What is your refund policy?

We want this to be an enjoyable experience for you and your pet and we want you to be 100% satisfied with the results. If you are not satisfied with your photos we will gladly either schedule a re-shoot or refund to you the entire amount of the shoot.


What is the contract for?

We have a contract for us both to sign which lays out our terms, protects our rights to the images resultant from the shoot and is basically necessary for us to do business. The contract is signed just prior to the photo shoot and no shoot can happen without it. If you would like a copy to view before your shoot, let us know and we will happily e-mail or mail you one.


How do I view my proofs?

When your proofs are ready to view we will e-mail you a link for online viewing. Feel free to forward the web address to friends and family to get their opinions!


How can I order prints?

You can go to the website (www.kapturedbykay.com) and order your photos. We also have merchandise available that can be customized with your photos. Please allow the lab 1-2 weeks for your prints, and or merchandise to be completed and mailed.


Can I order prints again at a later date?

Yes! We keep our photo shoots on-line and backed up on disc indefinitely, so you can reorder whenever you want!


Can I have my prints framed?

Of course! Our website has many different sizes that can be framed, made as a canvas or made into merchandise. Prices will vary depending on materials and image sizes. If you do not see the size you like, please let us know and we will make it available, providing our lab makes that size.


Can I purchase image files from my shoot?

We do offer high resolution digital files for sale at our website. If you're interested in getting low resolution files to share with friends and family or to post on your Facebook, etc., we can include one download for free with any print order over $25.00.
